Three for Thursday: Hair, There, and Everywhere

  • Hair:
Yes, I had only been to Anne Maria a handful of times but I had grown to like her.  I was told over the phone she no longer worked at the hair place near my house so I was set-up with some random.  Not that the haircut was terrible, but I’m now YET AGAIN on the search for some talent to set my head-of-locks apart from everyone else’s.  If only, if only, my best hair masterpieces were not products of Montreal.  That, even for me, is a bit far to drive for a new ‘doo.
  • There:
I have to drive to Lethbridge Tuesday for a two hour meeting.  Yikes!  That’s six hours of driving, and the teacher-next-door covering my class for two hours worth of information.  Are you wondering if I’m comitted to this idea of becoming a graduate program?  I am.  (…and it’s not only to get the student discounts either.  So there.)
  • Everywhere:
I am loving the new Social Studies 6 Program of Studies (Curriculum).  I think I am fairly unique in my interest in teaching/learning about government… but I really like it.  I must be a true Forum for Young Canadians alumni.  Right now, we’re learning about the Iroquois Confederacy, and it’s all very interesting to me (and hopefully them).  haha, I’ve learned so much since I’ve started teaching Grade 6, it’s embarassing.  Imagine if I were teaching a higher grade like Grade 12!
