The research question:
What if someone had Calgary on the brain, but was a bit unsure. What would Calgarians say are the best things about Cowtown? Is there a best part? What makes Calgary a great place to be? Hopefully, the affection Calgary has for itself can translate to those who have less experience with the pancake flippin’, two steppin’, mountain goin’ adolescent city. Is Calgary more contemporary than it lets on?
The process:
Easy. 20 days. 20 posts. WHAT is so important about Cowtown? With a Camera, camcorder, domain (and keyboard!) in tote, see if Calgary’s je ne sais quois can be captured.
The preamble:
So. I’ve already cheated. I’ve put out the ‘feelers’ to see what others think. A few trends have already emerged. 1) The people–almost everyone has said the people here are what makes it a great place to be 2) The outdoors–this seems to be a city that is designed to get people outside and active and 3) The familiarity–people seem to really like that it’s the big, new city that feels like the small familiar one. From there, we’ve dug a bit deeper. =) [Oh, and 4) The FOOD… turns out Calgarians like to eat at ALL times of the day (and night)].
